Oh dear Michael, interesting that you can never answer the detailed questions, especially the issues of pollution and hazards caused by displaced traffic. As ever, a response that is very economical with the truth. The practical impact of the temporary version of CS9 are signficant vs the permanent one. CLosure of Fishers Lane and TGT, loss of eastbound right turn space for Dukes Avenue (which will see that turn banned I am sure), loss of westbound High Road right turn space for TGT, to name a few. Then we have the extreme narrowing of carriageways that makes it hard for vehicles to pass. Mainly due to exclusive reliance of taking road space rather than any pavement space. Also, the key point is that CS9 was never designed for local residents or local needs. That was not the goal, as I believe you have recently said, its to deliver a long distance cycle highway for commuters into central London. All the plans and consultations merely back that up. As for 'serving the local town centre'. Are you serious...? Again the only section is from Waitrose to Hammersmith. If you live right on that route or want to get to Hammersmith, good. If you come from anywhere else or want to go anywhere else... nothing. Actually worse than nothing due to displaced traffic. |
