As I understand it the Council only needs to notify the emergency services of their intention to implement a scheme if it is being done under an Experimental Traffic Order which most of these schemes are. It is the government not the council which has determined that full consultation is not necessary. The emergency services are treated like the rest of us in that they can give feedback as the scheme is in its trial period. If they have had any major problem with it so far they will have been in touch with the council. A freedom of information request would reveal whether they have or not. |
