| Reluctant as I am to agree with some of the more childish and gratuitously insulting contributors on here who throw their toys out of the pram if people don't agree with their usual British-hating attitudes, I think this bill is very, very dangerous. Problem is, it will probably get through. Legislation that refuses to acknowledge animals as 'sentient beings' - ffs, how could anything be more grotesque? and is able to water down climate change standards is not fit for purpose. Apparently it will get through, but I will certainly be fighting for our government to subsequntly enact the right legislation to sort this - particularly animal, climate and women's issues which look like going into reverse because of over-toleration of the intolerant and not least of a certain President in the US. What sort of Parliament do we have that this could be allowed to pass? But then, if Gina Miller gets her way in her assertion that May’s bung to the DUP is illegal, none of this might matter anyway...May we live in interesting times, as they say. |
