| 'There was nothing democratic about it' Hysterical hyperbole. Apart from Scotland, which set its own voting age at 16 two years ago, British residents aged 18 and over had a vote which they could exercise freely and in a secret ballot. That's democracy. To say there was 'nothing democratic about it' is just silly. Would you have questioned the democracy of the vote if the result had gone the other way? I suspect not. 'and anyone still thinking that Brexit will be good for the UK is mistaken.' A complete non sequitur. Whether or not Brexit is good for the UK in the long run has nothing to do with the democratic nature of the vote. |
