| Keith, your points taken absolutely, but the things which you reference as 'Hartlepool' have their roots in poor government from Westminster. Brussels and the EU are peripheral to them, and serve mostly as a scapegoat. Despite (or maybe because of?) migration (EU & elsewhere) Britain has its highest level of employment since records began. UK nationals unemployment has a lot to do with poor education (Westminster), lack of training (Westminster) and poor social mobility often caused by cost of housing in prosperous areas (Westminster). Expect none of that to change post-Brexit. |
