| "...whilst in Hartlepool or many other towns and cities kids are lucky to be working for Poundland". More likely they are on a zero hours contract with Amazon. Here's the truly funny thing. Our duped Hartlepool voter was sold a real pup - they thought they were voting for more services, hospitals and investment for their area. They missed the rather obvious fact (they were pointed away from facts) that the cuts they'd been suffering from were all Tory government austerity driven. And the only investment in their area that they were going to get was from the EU. So like their predecessors who mistook an ape for a Frenchman, they demonstrated their wilful ignorance and voted out of the EU. And guess what, post-Brexit we're going to get fewer and looser employment laws, none of this namby-pamby EU legislation. And we're definitely not going to get EU investment in deprived areas - we'll get more Tory austerity and cuts. So our Hartlepool voters will get the opposite of what they were voting for. Hurrah for democracy and giving the people what they thought they were voting for! |
