| You've managed to pick three countries whose growth all exceeds ours now. However as every EU country is growing faster than the UK currently it's difficult to cherry pick your data I guess. Shrivelling Spain? (growth last quarter 3 x as fast as UK) Wilting Italy (growth last quarter 2 x as fast as UK) Drying up Greece (last quarter's figures not available, but 1st quarter double the UK's). In fact the one, positive tangible benefit of the brexit vote is it has brought the EU countries closer together, with a higher percentage now viewing the EU as a positive force than at any time in recent years. So far from triggering a weakening domino effect, the result has been the reverse. They are closer and more united just as we seek to leave, that should make the negotiations go just swimmingly. |
