Anita makes a good point. It's more than W4 cafes/restaurants it's book sellers one in CHR, veg and ice cream sellers and others traders throughout the whole of Hounslow. Some really do struggle to make a living. The legislation and licensing is amongst other things designed to control and regulate the amount of space taken by applicants -not seek a percentage of their income. I've actively opposed this draconian increase because of the inclusion of £128k payable to Hounslow highways for their seven enforcement staff. This it seems is a part payment of their overall role. There's no available data showing how effective they are, and given the need to reduce costs this matter is worthy of urgent renegotiation. Anecdotal evidence is that their performance is minimaL. Without this 128k inclusion the LBH income exceeds costs. LBH's venture into setting up in house trading companies currently ties up millions of pounds. Lampton 360 borrows money from LBH to buy properties etc. Some staff on 100k plus bonus. No sign of profit If only LBH could offset its trading losses! |
