as you may know, LBH and LBE, along with 4 other councils are part of the West London Waste Authority WLWA have contract with Viridor Waste Management (who have investing 1 billion in incineration plants) incl a fairly recent 177m investment in a wate burning plant at Lakeside nr Heathrow i saw a document on th WLWA website which specified that they plan to DOUBLE the tonnage of residual waste to Viridor i.e. waste that is not being rcycled or reused by the definition as we know it i also a mention of a 60 million investment for SITA who is also building an incinerator, by our council (don't know how much LBH is paying of that) sorry, my laptop has died and with it the bookmarks and links i was going to provide so i am doing this mainly from memory of what i read last year part 2 to follow |
