That is not what I mean at all. A bit of litter is a crisp packet, a biscuit wrapper and a few pieces of film since everything else will have been recycled including food waste. Not everyone can take a sackful to Stirling Road even though only occasionally. What is happening is that people who are not recycling have too much to fit into the wheelie bins and are dumping it next to litter bins. It's happening everywhere. Paper, card, plastics, cans, bottles etc. It was bound to happen and needs to be investigated with fines made. There can really be no excuse for doing it when we all have recycling facilities provided. With 2 green boxes, 2 blue paper bags, 2 white plastics bags, a food waste bin, 4 garden waste bags and a composter in our small front garden, we don't have space for a wheeler bin. We don't even have a bin in the kitchen, just a carrier bag waiting for more to arrive. What more can we do? |
