Nick, Or could it just be that I simply have a greater "bigger picture" understanding ?. And sorry if that sounds arrogant, but I knew someone would jump to such a daft conclusion just because I point out how this situation illustrates how Councils work in 2014, for 8 years next to nothing happens in respect of Conservation Areas, and then within a matter of weeks a new Conservation Area springs up. It doesn't exactly suggest that there's been a thorough appraisal/review of the relevant merits of the Area has been undertaken, and that's what I have a 'problem' with as it illustrates how, no doubt in part due to resourcing issues, Council Planning Departments often struggle to operate within the spirit/intentions of the relevant regulations. Living where I do the P&T isn't somewhere I regularly go or see, so I'm not in a suitably informed position personally to say whether I think the P&T is worthy of retention or not, and professionally it is nothing to do with me (if I was in any way associated with it I wouldn't be posting on here about it). My 'crime' would appear to be daring to express a personal, subjective view about the relative merits of certain parts of either existing proposed or existing Conservation Areas...bad bad boy Adam, how dare you express a view that might not necessarily by shared by others ;-) |
