You've clearly never seen me out cycling. Having only been back from an early evening ride, I witnessed the following : I was waiting at the front of the queue in the cycle refuge area at a red light at Richmond Circus. Cyclist proceeded to pass me and continue regardless of red light, I immediately shouted "what colour is the light on mate ?". No response and didn't get the chance to catch him up as he went a different way, else I'd have asked him again when I caught up with him. Little dog on lead on Tamsin Trail in Richmond Park, but lead so long the dog was ahead on one side of the trail and the walker behind on the other. The walker could see me approaching from some distance but did absolutely nothing, and then as I passed the dog tried to attack my legs. Cycling back from Richmond towards Kew Bridge the traffic was queuing back considerably along Kew Road. I didn't opt for the far easier pavement option but overtook all the queuing traffic in the middle of the road directly facing oncoming traffic, not ideal but only did so when it was safe to do so. Wouldn't do that on Kew Bridge as I see many cyclists do. I patiently queued between the traffic until the shared path over Kew Bridge started, only to find a middle aged couple cycling on the pavement before the shared path started. On Kew Bridge shared path I let a family past first where it got narrow, although the father seemed to take excessively long, as though he intentionally wanted to annoy me. So yes, there are idiot cyclists. There's also idiot drivers and idiot pedestrians. |
