| Doesn't need to be two way for cyclists as they can always use the pavement! I guess the official answer to that is that cyclists only use the pavement because the road isn't two way for them. Problem is that many cyclists don't really see themselves as 'vehicles' bound by regulations, despite the battles of their ancestors to achieve such protected status. They see themselves taking advantage of the huge flexibility and freedom of a bicycle to go more or less anywhere, and they resent what they see as 'arbitrary' restrictions on their movement - such as Devonshire Road being one way, and the installation of complex facilities in CGT intended to protect them - as all traffic signage is intended to do. |
