| It is the fastest way but not if now physically you are not able to ride a bike. In my opinion, bikes and cars should be totally separated, the two do not mix and are dangerous together. This also applies to pedestrians who should have their own separated pathways and crossings. All very well in a new build town or city where wide boulevards can be planned. However, in our ancient, narrow twisting thoroughfares it is not. It would take wholesale destruction, demolition and re-build to achieve 6 separated walk, cycle, motorised ways to permit a there and return journey. If that is what it takes to save our planet, then why are the powers that be not biting the bullet and getting on with the job. We old folk will have to lump it, we are not the future and in my case I certainly will not like it! |
