| Was grateful for the meeting but puzzled as to how some people thought it was ‘hijacked’ by Ruth Cadbury. It seemed to me she was stating the bleeding obvious that if you cut the police budget by 30%. or whatever it is then this must have an impact on community policing and response times. She spoke very briefly at the end, apologised for making the obvious point in case it was considered party political- which I suppose it was but that doesn’t make it wrong does it? Responses can be party political too, surely? There weren’t any good suggestions by anyone, however, least of all the lead police guy, but if there is no money what can he do. Or say. Can’t think extra lighting if it happens will do much and clearly the extra monitoring of the tube starions isn’t enough. We should keep up the pressure but be a bit more open to the contributions of everyone present, including MPs and be a bit more angry about cuts that impact on our lives so badly, whatever party we vote for. |
