And while I agree with you that Feltham is quite some way away for police to get to Chiswick quickly, what I find amazing is that people seem to think that everywhere but the centre of Chiswick is too far away for criminals to get to and that we have some kind of divine bubble protecting Chiswick and the roads around it from criminals, as if they wouldn't dare to travel and take advantage of those nice Guardian readers. It is clearly proving a shock to Chiswickians that what is happening in the rest of London and the country at large which they have smugly ignored because The Guardian didn't tell them that it might also apply to middle class areas might also - absolutely amazingly - also happen here. Time they woke up to reality and started to think about Chiswick as part of Greater London and not just a privileged little enclave. |
