| In reply to James If being honest I do not think many left with any confidence as nothing was really offered up to combat the exact reason people attended. Street lighting was offered without any real answer to why what and when except saving money due to budgets and a letter will be forwarded to the council from the commander on this issue being not great and not adequate. Unable to link CCTV faces at TGT station and crime on Rocks Lane while three were arrested in Chiswick i believe on Monday for knife possession and are believed to be responsible or linked i believe if hearing correctly over 9 muggings locally but no further details. Perhaps the final outcome to those arrests will be made public. In a way, I felt sorry for those three young policewomen who cover our area sitting on the side listening to the whole debate. No fault of their own must have at times felt responsible for which they are not and know what is needed. Undercover officers have been out on those problem areas but no information as to if this was a one-off and if it will continue to be a regular operation while the issue is high. I think most will have walked away with not much and hope and believe that the high percentage of crime against the young will drop off rapidly over the coming weeks. If not then some do have to be directly held accountable to a failing task whatever the circumstances are within policing locally. |
