| You may not like it Adam but there is a process to be followed which allows the plans of any developer to be scrutinised and commented on by the general public. The facts simply don't support your contention that objections by residents including the attempt to get a judicial review contributed in any way to the situation that we now find ourselves in. Lendlease had ample time to sell the flats in this development in what were favourable market conditions. Why they abandoned the attempt is not clear but it was solely their decision. It leaves us with a significant part of the High Road in limbo to the detriment of Chiswick as a whole. As has been pointed out if they have no immediate plans to develop the site they could get imaginative with leases to encourage businesses back to the area but instead they prefer to sit on lots of vacant property. That may make financial sense for them but it is being done at a cost to Chiswick and you shouldn't be making misjudged excuses for them. |
