| I didn't see the programme, but I believe it is crazy that the UK is not investing in nuclear power. France generates something like 75% of its electricity from nuclear power. We became complacent because we had North Sea oil and gas, but it's running out, yet we use much of our remaining gas (and imported gas too) to generate electricity. We should be reserving gas supplies for direct use, and use nuclear power stations to generate electricity. I detect no strategic thinking at all in this area from the British Governmnet. |
