Sadly we are no longer Great Britain, manufacturing wise. Gone are the days that we were leaders in many fields in this world, and without going into a history lesson. The facts laid bare is that we are leaders in the pharmaceuticals, and that we write software along with being a nation of shopkeepers and that is basically as good as it gets. Therefore how logically speaking can the UK get back up and off the ground? We read in our daily newspapers about economics, but without being a manufacturing nation how can this ever be done. I admire all those going to university studying worthwhile subjects, but if there are not jobs available to them it has basically been to little avail. I sincerely feel sorry for them along with those who are already 'genuinely' unemployed. Unemployment figures can only grow and the economy can only get worse. I don't care what Osborne does with borrowing from Peter to pay Paul but is not the cure at all. It would be nice to think that we could start to persuade overseas Companies to restart investing over here again, but is all too late. We outpriced employers wages years ago and some of us represent us a greedy nation. For all those poor souls out there who genuinely want a job to keep body and soul together the chances are no longer as simplistic as years. Come on Mr Cameron and HM Goverment restart your thinking. Form a Think Tank to exploit all avenues to kickstart this Cointry again. |
