Seriously John - if you are a democrat and a socialist what is wrong with asking for a referendum on Europe ? Ireland has had quite a few defends on Europe in recent years and once had the temerity to vote No. Then the Eurocrats and the bankrupt Irish political establishment demanded that the question another time and they voted yes. If the people of Northern Ireland had been asked they would have voted No. Sinn Fein/PIRA and the DUP are both opposed to the EU. But the English, the Welsh and thevScots have not been asked since |
