11 years or socialism? Sorry Ed but you're not talking about the UK here? If you think the Labour party are soclialists then you need to take the blinkers off yourself. Now as for failing schools, they do exist but have always existed but not as visible as now. The level of education in the UK appears to be about as high as it's ever been. You'd have to have a bad case of 'in my day things where better' to claim otherwise. My experience of education under the Tories where not good. My first school was opened by one M Thatcher (the milk snatcher) and I saw the transition of education being seen as something that brought wealth to the country to something that brought debt to students. I can say positive things about the tories in the 80s and somethings where needed, it's just in retrospect much was lost in the process. As for the polls - no suprises there. I think I know this country fairly well and know i'm left of center to the majority and the more I get to know Chiswick the more conservative I find it. Shame really. |
