There is a tax relief for small breweries - producing less than 60,000 hectolitres a year. CAMRA says this means that there is more choice of real ale than at any time since they were founded. The only fly in this particular ointment is that there are not many pubs in Chiswick selling beer from such breweries. The Express has a great choice of guest beers, and the Bulls head - but all the fullers pubs seem to do guest beer from other big brewers. I'd like to see more 'real ale in a bottle' at the pubs and bars that currently only sell wine or lager (eg. Pickwicks or the new place in Chiswick Park). |
