| Steve, I have no doubt that there are plenty of motorists who have sucessfully appealed against speeding tickets due to inadequate signage. I was however refering to the A40 Westway heading out of town, specifically the 30 Mph section between the end of the Marylebone Road (A501) and the point where the speed limit goes up to 40 Mph (just before Bloemfontein Road). Are you saying that motorists have had fines that were issued for speeding on this section quashed? If you are, can you point me to any evidence that this is actually the case? Anecdotes don't cut the mustard I'm afraid. Or are you simply saying that there are some speed limits on some routes out of town that aren't clearly signed? If it's the later, then I don't disagree with you. |
