| Strictly, 30mph areas don’t need repeater signs on lampposts as the assumed default is 30. Anything where there are lampposts that’s different should have small repeaters showing 50, 40, or indeed, 20. It's with 20mph where things get confusing, with a frequent lack of repeaters, roads switching between 20 and 30 for no apparent reason as you cross a borough boundary, and different ‘gateway’ signage for 20mph limits and 20mph zones, which are different things. |
