One of the main reasons for the massive slowdown a new starts in London has been the never ending rise in the price of brownfield land upon which to build. This, of course, does not apply to the mayor who has hundreds of acres 'landbanked' to the east of the capital along with the entire TFL estate available upon which to build. The opposition at City Hall has calculated that it will be 2052 before he ever hits his target at the current start rate. That, by any measure, is an abject failure. |
