| Re. Cllr. Hearn: "I estimate around 10+% of residents in my ward live in access controlled flats. Should I just ignore them?" One of the reasons people live in such accommodation is because they value privacy. And as for "ignoring" them, if they really are interested in their local candidates, there are ample means for them to find out more for themselves these days, without being subjected to unwanted intrusion. "It is of course wrong to lie about why you want/need access. This smacks of desperation. However I think that it is reasonable to ask to be allowed access to place literature in post boxes." Reasonable to ask, yes, but not reasonable to disregard a "No", then lie about it. Ultimately, there is always the Royal Mail - I got a leaflet through the post this morning from one of the parties, which is perfectly fine. |
