It's NOT affordable housing - it's what has replaced so-called 'social housing' (which should be re-named). Anything and everything is 'affordable' if you've got the money, I think we are talking new and cheaper ways of building a massive number of homes for rent for ordinary people and youngsters starting out who could not even dream of affording a home that costs 80% of the market value especially in London. People can neither live a little way outside London and commute in because of the costs of travel. The government cannot have it both ways, we can't have zero hours contracts and unpaid internships as the norm, not to mention the pitiful 'living wage' and think people would ever get a mortgage based on that working pattern.
