re building in the sixties what we have to keep in mind is that we are know in a new millenium and we have a mature capitalism/free market global investors appetite for investing in London property appears to be pretty much a bottomless pit and property is the new gold and London being London, it is open to all so until investors from around the world had their fill (and it is not just big companies, it is like your dentist from Singapore too) and/or the global free market economy stops operating here (not likely) you can build as many tower blocks until there is no blade of grass left and most Londoners life cheek by jowel as if in cages before demand from using property as a safeish haven for wealth, instead of money or stocks, will cease and only then prices would come down to affordable level vis a vis average earnings however i think it is likely by then that many would not want to live in tower blocked to the hilt superdense London anymore, and some place like Bristol or Brighton may become the 'new London' in the very long term |
