It's 'ethnic cleansing' - but a posher version. Most large council built estates have become settled and cohesive communities, now with mixed tenures. Given the current explosion in house prices in London and the surrounding areas 80% of the market value is a bloody lot of money. To solve the housing crisis we need a massive council/government building programme using cheaper, alternative and environmentally acceptable methods, and we desperately must bring back into use the amount of abandoned properties. It is a continuing scandal that these potential homes are left standing empty.
