There is - if - and it's a big if - the political will is there, I see no sign of that with the current ideological driven governance, but no government over the last God knows how many years has addressed this problem. The 60s example wasn't brilliant in terms of the type of build but something along the lines of the numbers of homes built is possibly the only answer. With modern building technologies it is possible to build cheaper, environmentally friendly homes and lots of them, but who is listening and who cares?
