F1's always been expensive, and rarely have there been any more than 3/4 teams at the sharp end of the grid capable of putting together a campaign for a drivers or constructors championship. I love seeing a small privateer team nick a race but F1 always has, and always should be the pinnacle of motorsport, and it's impossible to get away from the fact that it's got more and more expensive to compete. But, I'd rather see the best engineers and best drivers slugging it out in the absolute best machinery that can be built, than have the formula watered down to allow some also-rans to prop up the back end of the grid. Point taken re: LH though, that said I'm way more interested in what he does on the track than I ever am with what he does off it.
