I see the BBC has just ditched F1 and got out of its contract 3 years early as it cuts costs.

CH4 has taken over the new rights deal and will show all practice sessions recorded or live. It will also air  all F1 races with 10 races LIVE. They have also agreed to not have any advert breaks during the live races.

So good news if your a F1 fan.

BBC has also ditched the Open golf and given up TV rights to the air the Australian Open tennis for 2016 onwards. The BBC will also have to negotiate tv rights with Discovery from 2022. However the BBC has paid £204m for premiership football highlights to keep match of the day running.


Expect a mixture of  BBC bosses to again be make further Select Committee appearances in 2016
