Adrian - sorry .... prove this prove that ... what on earth are you on about? Its simple enough is'nt it? The overall housing stock needs to be increased so lets sell existing social housing to existing social tenants and sell off social housing units in high cost areas when they become vacant and use the money to build new social housing. Whats the problem apart from clapped out ideologically hidebound thinking on your part? Lets talk turkey. There is a three bedroom house (some would say it actually has four bedrooms) not ten minutes walk from where I live that is owned by Hounslow Housing. This was lived in by one individual whose rent was being paid for by the rest of us. He has decided to move to a much cheaper one bedroom flat in another part of the Borough. The house is worth in excess of £1.1m but Hounslow Housing has re-let it. The new tenants come from the other end of the Borough where for £1.1m you can buy two to three houses. What an utter nonsense. |
