Martin, Like you I find that class warfare as practiced by some Labour supporters to be silly and discriminatory. I think the Conservatives have changed under David Cameron. I don't like all the changes but in general the changes are for the better and the principles remain much the same. The Conservative Party has always evolved and changed with the times and that is why it will outlive and outlast the Labour Party just as it did the old Liberal Party and the Whigs. I think that so far the Conservatives are far more serious about addressing the serious economic mess Gordon Brown has got this country into. At the Labour Party Conference last week, Gordon Brown was still spending like there is no tomorrow. He announced more plans to spend and waste our money. The Conservatives are adopting a more fundamental, radical and realistic approcah to cut waste and get the country working and moving again -propelled by the spirit and power of free enterprise and free people rather than burdened by by excessive state intervention, high taxation and incredible waste as under Labour. |
