'Going on ministerial jaunts to New York has no relevance to her performance as a constituency MP.' That is just a silly and juvenile remark, Mr Greenhough. Mrs Keen did not go on a 'ministerial jaunt', she did a lot of hard lobbying at New York's Columbia University to try and improve training and the quality standards of health workers. She did this partly in response to constituencts and church groups in Chiswick, who had written to her about the issue of the maternal mortality rate in the developing world. It comes as no surprise that the Conservative Party takes such a contemptuous attitude to this issue, given that you are more interested in cutting inheritance tax for millionaires. |
