I am frankly amazed by a lot of the comments about the Conservatives. Of course they try to represent all people - as did Tony Blair. And they always have. Was last Tory PM a toff? John Major? You are joking. Margaret Thatcher whatever we may think of her policies (on the whole I thought pretty good) was miles from being a toff. It is fair to describe Cameron as a toff, but so what? The issue at the next election is who can make the best job of governing the country and being fair to all. I am not enamoured by our politicians, but most try their best - the last job in the world I would want is to be next PM, but good luck to Cameron. On pensions etc, I worked until I was 78 and enjoyed it. Part-time at the end. I recommend going on working to everyone. Well worth it and fun, meeting people, getting away from home and making some contribution to society. |
