The previous government did not process migrants or did not make enough effort to process migrants. (Difficult when you decide to cut the numbers of employees working in departments in a crazy so-called cost-cutting agenda.) Perhaps this was to create more public upset? There has been more work done to make agreements with other countries (many of which relations had become more distanced and frosty because of Brexit). https://www.gov.uk/government/news/huge-increase-in-migration-returns-and-illegal-working-arrests I don't believe your statements are true about the current government - why exactly are you so negative about progress. There was after all little progress before the change in government. |
