The UK is made up of immigrants and that doesn't necessarily mean new immigrants. People have always moved around the world. More people should look into their family trees and where their relations were born (although that isn't always correct)! Also look at the number of children our Victorian ancestors had. Many died young and so were not mentioned in later years. Interestingly some of the most outspoken critics of immigration are those whose families or at least one member of their family have moved here from another country. It is worth taking a longer and better look at them! |
