That post doesn’t make sense. Why would anyone apply illegally? Refugees quite often try to make for countries where they have family - wouldn’t anyone? But people with refugee status can only apply for “family reunification” with spouses and their own children under 18. So no children over 18, no parents or siblings (however old or young) Very occasionally an exception is made if the siblings have no one else in the world. But it’s truly unusual. For other immigrants, there are very strict financial requirements to bring in family members including spouses and children. And once refugees get citizenship (usually six years later) those financial requirements apply to them too. |
