| Jeremy, the fact is that a simple mathematical error caused the proprietor to wrongly conclude that over 11 months, takings on 14 non-market Sundays were 27% (14/11) higher than they were. This should not be overly difficult to understand. The same proprietor is now asking us to believe that their non-market Sunday daily sales are in one six-month period nearly double that of the rest of the year. Again, this should not be difficult to understand. Further, we know that another proprietor can claim that their sales figures show that the removal of parking has damaged their business, when a proprietor on the same street with a very similar sales pattern draws no such conclusion. In fact both sales figures show no effect from the change in parking. What is laughable is to conclude that proprietors’ views on what affects their business are always based on their actual sales figures. |
