| Paul, I think you are a bit harsh describing yourself as a 'reactionary curmudgeon'. I do however agree that it is great to see the level of response this consultation has received. Although I'm inclined against it, there is no denying the huge number of people backing it and the passion of their arguments plus the support of a section of the business community. As for the balance between the two sides, I haven't counted the number of comments but the file against is about a third larger than the file for even without councillor Biddolph's over long objection which gets a file of its own. Although it certainly is padded I think she makes some quite pertinent technical objections which may have more weight than the messages of support. |
