In the 17 years since this interesting thread started there were several posts pointing out the Thackeray-Vanity Fair connection to Chiswick, but no answers to the query about the connection of Charles James Fox to Chiswick. He died in 1806 in Chiswick House, and his grandfather's estate had included the area that is now the kitchen garden to the north of the Chiswick House conservatory. (As described in article in the Brentford & Chiswick Local History Journal in 2006.)
