Brown also quoted on the BBC as saying fully supportive of expansion. I really dont understand it. Given how Labour are trying to maximise any short term political gains right now, I'm amazed they havent taken the opportunity to kick this into touch. Air passenger numbers in UK were declining even before the recession. Others are right, LHR only at capacity as flights are constantly being moved in from other airports like Gatwick. There is nothign wrong with being the 2nd or 3rd int'l hub, one reason flights from UK are more expensive is all the transit demand for seats. Don't let labour off the hook yet. They are the only major party to support this madness (and dont get me started on Gordon brown.) |
