if you did all the stats again, to try and make a case that LHR needs expanding i suspect that continuing growth/demand can't be demomstrated at this point in time numbers for BA have contracted for a while as far i am aware and they have transferred a lot of flights from Gatwick to LHR over the last year or so to be able to say that they operate at capacity also, BAA biggest customer for runway 3 was going to be BA who we all know, have been in trouble for a while well before the strikes with staff working without pay for a month or taking unpaid leave unless you think of course, that Heathrow needs to remain the No1 International Hub, no matter what the cost to anyone and the environment, cos, you know, it sounds good ! let us become no 2 or 3 and have less environmental burden from people flying in and the just taking another plane onwards, not much benefit for us, apart from BAA, mostly BA and a few duty free retailers....... |
