Richard, re Barons Court how is it possible to make a valid comparison until TG has a permanent Picadilly stop? Also, you say the technology is not all in place. Given that there are stops at TG either end of the day, I find it very difficult to understand what additional technology is required. But assuming you are correct, what would it take to put the technology in place? I accept your closer knowledge, and it is for that very reason that I would really like you to get TfL to make a study which starts with the assumption that there MUST be a permanent stop at TG - and then look at the possible solutions from all angles, cost, convenience etc. to see whether it is viable. Given that there is already all the technology in place for a regular stop at TG (at certain hours) what changes could be made to get that done all day. Chiswick has changed massively since we moved in in 1985, and really deserves a better U/ground link to the City/West End. There have been no improvements to the tube service in this area since - I would guess the last War, but certainly in the last 40 years. It really must be possible to get the message across and force something through. |
