Contrary to many of the above postings, I believe there are indeed profound differences between the Conservative Party and the Labour Party. These have become more pronounced since Gordon Brown took over the Labour leadership after he ousted Tony Blair.

The Conservatives now enjoy widespread and broad public support. The Conservatives are seen as being nice, competent, honest and progressive.

Labour is very unpopular and it is seen as being nasty, corrupt, incompetent and reactionary.

There are indeed profound policy differences as well and these will become more apparent as Labour runs out of new ideas and the Conservatives continue their preparations to takeover the Government after the next general election.
