| I am convinced there won't be a tunnel to get across Acton Lane between the Sainsburys development site and Chiswick Park station. There is a surface crossing already. Crossing Acton Lane is hardly an insurmountable barrier. There could be further improvements to the surface route. For example, putting in signals to stop all traffic in front of the station then pedestrians cross directly in front rather than a diversion to the zebras. I've said nothing about accessible access at Chiswick Park station itself, getting from the station entrance hall to the platforms. This may be perfectly feasible. It would be a better use of funding from the development than a totally unnecessary and hugely expensive tunnel just to get across Acton Lane. |
