The principle that asylum doesn't have to be claimed in the first safe country reached goes back to the very origins of the asylum system and is integral to the way it works. Anybody stating 'the law needs to be changed' is displaying a basic ignorance of the matter. This isn't the 19th century, Britain no longer has the power to unilaterally change international law. |
