| C9 was under utilised at lunch time, maybe it is just too hot. However, it is good that it is finally open, no doubt that will last a good fortnight before some organisation decides to dig up the road again. Whether it is worth the money only time will tell. However, it is pretty clear that C9 has not only managed to improve cycling along its route but also managed to create serious accident black spots. For me the classic is the Duke's Avenue/CHR junction: theory is that it is safe with the lights including a cyclist only time, practice is that I have already seen 2 near misses in 4 days when a car turns from CHR onto Dukes Avenue and a cyclist, ignoring the fact that the lights for the cycle lane are on red, attempts to cycle straight into the turning car. |
